Their website describes the project as:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The world&#8217;s most innovative decentralized stablecoins and DeFi stablecoin infrastructure. The Frax ecosystem is a self-sufficient DeFi economy utilizing stablecoins as currency.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Currently, there are three decentralized stablecoins issued by the Frax protocol:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/de.fi\/token\/frax\">Frax (<strong>$FRAX<\/strong>)<\/a> &#8211; pegged to the United States dollar<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/de.fi\/token\/frax-price-index\">Frax Price Index (<strong>$FPI<\/strong>)<\/a> &#8211; correlated to the United States consumer price index<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/de.fi\/token\/frax-ether\">FraxEther (<strong>$frxETH<\/strong>)<\/a> &#8211; Pegged to <a href=\"https:\/\/de.fi\/token\/ethereum\">Ethereum<\/a> for use in smart contracts and within their liquid-staking ecosystem<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The protocol also features <a href=\"https:\/\/de.fi\/token\/frax-share\">Frax Share (<strong>$FXS<\/strong>)<\/a> governance token which can be &#8220;staked as veFXS to govern the ecosystem&#8217;s stablecoins and infrastructure protocols.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>What is Fraxchain?<\/h2>\n<p>Fraxchain was announced in June and excitement has steadily been ramping up within the Frax community since then. In a statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/235110\/frax-finance-to-launch-ethereum-layer-2-named-fraxchain\">The Block<\/a>, Frax founder Sam Kazemian said &#8220;Fraxchain essentially represents the culmination of the entire Frax ecosystem and all of the traction and usage that we\u2019ve gained&#8221;.\u00a0 Kazemian also discussed the project in-depth on the <a href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.co\/news\/frax-finance-launching-l2\">Flywheel DeFi podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to announcements, Fraxchain will continue to use Frax Share ($FXS) as the chain&#8217;s governance token, with Frax Ether ($frxETH) acting as the gas token.<\/p>\n<p>The chain is expected to be a hybrid rollup consisting of both optimistic rollup architecture (used by Optimism and Arbitrum) and zero-knowledge proofs.\u00a0This will ideally enable faster transaction finality and decentralized sequencer capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The fees garnered by the roll-up network may be burned or funneled back to Ethereum mainnet to be shared among FXS token holders.<\/p>\n<h2>Fraxchain Airdrop Task Guide<\/h2>\n<p><iframe class=\"youtube-video\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uXdqqNyfj_Y\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While no airdrops have been confirmed for Fraxchain, DeFi users have learned that any time there is a new chain launching, there&#8217;s always the potential for an airdrop.
